MEET CLAIRE

Claire Hall, M.S., SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist

Welcome! I’m Claire, a pediatric speech therapist, wife and mama of two. Raised in Savannah, I attended Calvary Day School and later graduated from Armstrong State University with my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I’ve since been working with the pediatric population across a variety of settings, specializing in speech sound disorders and early language therapy. I love working with children and teaching them to communicate clearly and effectively with their loved ones. There’s truly nothing more rewarding!

My son struggled with speech at 2 years old so we took him in for an evaluation. We got placed with Claire and it was the best thing to happen for us. She gently walked us through the process, helped us establish an “at home” routine to keep progress going and encouraged my son through each hurdle along the way … Claire is an expert in her field. She’s kind-hearted and patient — a specialist who knows what she’s doing and caters her approach to each child. We trusted her and “the process” and put in the work and the results came! Highly recommend. We love our “Mrs. Claire”!

How do I get started?

First thing’s first — let’s talk! A brief phone call to discuss your concerns will determine whether an evaluation is the next best step for your child.

What can I expect?

After an initial evaluation, a Plan of Care (POC) will be created with goals to target your child’s specific needs. Therapy is typically scheduled one to two times a week. Parents are guided every step of the way through digital session summaries, which will include your child's progress and strategies to implement at home. Documentation pertinent to your child can be easily managed through your client portal.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we are a private pay only practice. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check, all major credit cards and health savings accounts. Although we do not directly bill any insurance companies, we can provide a detailed Superbill if you wish to seek reimbursement from your insurance company.

What is a Superbill?

An itemized document to send to your insurance provider for reimbursement purposes.

Where do you travel?

We travel to any private school, preschool program or residence in Savannah, including the islands.

Which schools do you currently serve?

Savannah Country Day, Hancock, St. Andrew’s, Calvary Day School, St. James, Blessed Sacrament, Isle of Hope Methodist Preschool, Eli’s Place and St. Paul’s. Don’t see your school listed? No problem! I handle all of the logistics and correspondence with directors, administrators, teachers, etc. to get your child started.

What is a Speech Sound Disorder (SSD)?

A SSD is a broad term that encompasses difficulties with speech sound production. It refers to problems in articulation (the physical production of speech sounds), phonological processes (patterns of sound errors) or both.

Language Delay v. Disorder

A language delay refers to situation where a child's language skills develop slower than expected for their age, but they eventually catch up to their peers and achieve typical language milestones. A language disorder refers to a significant difficulty with the development of language skills that may involve the form (phonology, morphology, syntax), content (semantics) or use (pragmatics) of language.

How do I know if my child is meeting communication milestones for their age?

Check out the CDC and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association for milestone checklists.
